Local Authorities – Ukrainian Re-Settlement Schemes

Supporting the co-ordination of accommodation for Ukrainian residents staying in the UK

Councils used AdvicePro to help securely manage residents details

When the Ukrainian resettlement scene started because of the war, councils were given money to help fund Ukrainian residents to come over here to live in safety. Ordinary members of the public were asked if they’d be willing to support people, by either letting them stay in second homes or allowing them to use spare bedrooms in an occupied property.

The scheme had to be closely organised and monitored to ensure funding was allocated appropriately. So, what we did for a few local authorities that were engaged in the resettlement scheme was customised their existing AdvicePro system, to help co-ordinate the scheme.

We used the feature of clients and cases but instead made them hosts (UK resident) and guests (Ukrainian residents). The host was the UK resident who was willing to support the person and their case looked quite different because it had checklist items such as, disclosure checks completed, accommodation and property suitability checks. Monies paid to the host to support the Ukrainian resident was recorded on AdvicePro and reported on.

The guest record checklist was different from the host record, with items like passport checks and accommodation requests; how many bedrooms did they need? Did they have pets? Did they have allergies? The beauty and flexibility of customisation profiles allows users to record easily and managers to report effectively.

Guest and host records are linked together to aid cross referencing information.
