Our Story

Founded to enable advice agencies to manage data seamlessly
and enhance their impact.

Our launchpad

Back in 2007, AdvicePro began life as a response to changing needs in the sector.

The Legal Aid Agency was updating how providers were paid for work carried out and this change led to another software provider stopping support for this work. At the same time AdviceUK had identified a requirement to be able to provide a case management solution for their members which would let them more easily view anonymised data from their member organisations to allow better campaigning. Originally developed from a money advice application which was in use in some local authorities across Scotland, AdvicePro was the solution to both of these needs.

 
 

Our journey

At the start of 2011 Advanced Case Management Solutions was born – a collaboration between the original developers and AdviceUK.

Our CEO, Ali McLaren, was part of the team who created the original money advice application. Steve Caulfield, our CTO, was part of the original AdvicePro team.
Together they rewrote the application from the ground up pulling on years of experience talking directly to our customers about the issues they were having both in recording data and helping their clients. This allowed AdvicePro V3 to become a streamlined case recording tool that aided advisers. When we launched our current version of AdvicePro it was after a year of consultation with our subscriber base, our most valuable resource when determining how AdvicePro should function.
We spent time in organisations looking at how they worked and prototyping different ideas to see how intuitive our designs were for all users.

Our Team

The AdvicePro team comprises a mix of specialities from people who’ve worked in agencies to highly skilled technical experts. Lynne, Paula and Sanja have either worked in advice giving organisations or spent years helping them translate their needs into an AdvicePro setup.

Our developers spend time each week interacting with our customers via the helpdesk so they understand how the application is being used and what they could add to make our users lives easier.

We’re constantly learning from the people who use our software, how the advice-giving landscape is changing and how we can help.

 
 

Future Plans

We’re always keen to extend integrations and partnerships to benefit our customers, helping them to grow and enhance their support to clients. Our particular focus now and into the future is offering a wider range of integrated tools that minimise admin time and maximise time delivering vital advice services to the people that need them.
